Olympic games 2016

Players and officials of the Senior Women National Team, Super Falcons, and the U-23 National Team, will depart Nigeria on Thursday for their crucial second leg away matches.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the matches are in pursuit of the 2016 Olympic Games tickets.
A statement on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) website on Wednesday said FIFA has already appointed Angola referee, Bernard Marximina, for the Equatorial Guinea- Falcons match.
Marximina, the Centre Referee, would be assisted by three of his compatriots, for the second leg match in Bata.
“Fellow Angolans Massanga Luhaco, Andalia Bimbi and Tania Marisa Duarte will be the Assistant Referee 1, Assistant Referee 2 and Fourth Official respectively.
“However, Agathe Athacou from Cote d’Ivoire will be the referee assessor and Nomsa Mahlangu, from South Africa , the Match Commissioner,’’ it said
The statement stated that Egyptian Mohamed Marouf would be the Centre Referee for the return leg match slated for Aug. 2 in Pointe Noire, Congo.
“His fellow Egyptians Mahmoud Abo, Samir Saad and Mahmoud El Banna will be Assistant Referee 1, Assistant Referee 2 and Fourth Official respectively.
“Bernard Mfubusa from Burundi will be the Match Commissioner,’’ it said.
The statement also stated that Falcons will have an official training at the Stadium Nkoatoma de Bata on Saturday, ahead of Sunday’s clash between the two strongest women’s football playing nations in Africa.
NAN recalls that Dream Team VI defeated Congo’s Red Devils 2-1 in Port Harcourt while Falcons drew 1-1 with Equatorial Guinea at the National Stadium in Abuja in their first encounter.

President Bihari Meets with the Cameroonian President

President Buhari has said that Nigeria and neighboring countries must stand together to defeat and degrade Boko Haram terrorists in the sub-region. Speaking late Wednesday at a state dinner at the Unity Palace in Yaounde, during his two-day working visit to Cameroon, President Buhari said countries in the sub-region cannot afford to falter in their resolve to get rid of the evils of terrorists.
``We recognize that none of us can succeed alone. In order to win this war we need the collective efforts of each one of us, standing together as a formidable force for good, to defeat and end these acts of terror against our people,’’ he said. The President told guests at the dinner hosted by President Paul Biya that the security situation in the region presented an opportunity for Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Benin to work together for their common security, peace and socio-economic development.

"Let me assure all of my relentless pursuit of all possible means to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity, protect the lives and property of our citizens as well as my commitment to continue to collaborate with Cameroon and our neighbors, within the framework of the Lake Chad Basin Commission. "The Federal government of Nigeria is committed to respecting international norms to resolve this matter and to restore normalcy to all the affected areas as soon as possible" he said.

"The Federal government of Nigeria is committed to respecting international norms to resolve this matter and to restore normalcy to all the affected areas as soon as possible,’’ he said.

The President, who had earlier on his arrival on Wednesday held a closed-door session with his host, thanked President Biya for providing refuge to Nigerians who had fled their homes because of the insurgents. He also commended Cameroon for its support to Nigerian military and security personnel in the fight against terrorism and offered his condolences to the families of the victims of terror in both countries.

President Buhari used the occasion of his speech to announce Nigeria's willingness to expand economic partnerships with Cameroon, through increased joint ventures in infrastructure development, transport and commerce, among others. He welcomed the achievements so far recorded by the Nigeria-Cameroon Joint Commission and all the landmark agreements signed between both countries.

The President, who described the relations between both countries as excellent, recognized the roles played by past and present leaders and Nigerian citizens in sustaining friendly relations with Cameroon. In his remarks, Biya while congratulating President Buhari for a successful inauguration into office said his electoral victory has provided an opportunity for him to preside over the "future of Nigeria.''

"Mr President, a dark cloud is looming over our countries even as we welcome you; we are facing the same threat, which may rock the foundation of our two nations.

"This danger bears the name of Boko Haram, its atrocities and crimes are hampering peace around Lake Chad and especially in our two countries. ''The number of those killed and victims are rising, economic activities have been in its lowest tempo in the affected areas, the number of refugees and displaced persons are ever increasing. ''We cannot allow this cancer to spread, we must pool our resources and forces and share our experiences" he said.

President Biya, who reaffirmed Cameroon’s commitment in the fight against terror, welcomed the ''fresh push'' on economic ties between both countries through easing of trade.

The president said,"I strongly believe in your readiness to work towards that goal and your visit to Cameroon as well as the discussions we have had have strengthened my conviction".

Manchester united makes a whooping €100m for Thomas muller

Manchester United reportedly madeBayern Munich a massive €100-million offer for the services of German international Thomas Mueller.
Mueller, 25, played under Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal at the start of his career and is open to reconnecting with his old manager, according to the Guardian. German newspaper Bild reports Manchester United submitted a €100-million bid, but Munich is not too keen on selling Mueller.
Should the deal go through, it would be the highest fee paid for a player in euros, though not by much: Cristiano Ronaldoand Gareth Bale commanded similar numbers for their respective moves toReal Madrid, at about €6 million less for Ronaldo and €9 million less for Bale.
Van Gaal hinted earlier this week at one more surprise signing but followed that up by saying the mystery player didn't necessarily have to be a striker. It seems like a pretty clear-cut statement, but Mueller has played out wide and as an attacking midfielder, and van Gaal is known to be quite clever in his wordplay, so Mueller isn't out of the realm of possibility.
The two teams struck a deal earlier in the summer transfer window, with midfielderBastian Schweinsteiger heading to Old Trafford. Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said at the time of the deal that Schweinsteiger would be the last player to depart for the Premier League club.
"I can totally reassure all the fans we will issue no further players more towards Manchester United," Rummenigge said. "The Bundesliga has to be careful not to fall further behind, I think. Anyone who follows the transfer market at the moment, within which English clubs work, knows their clubs are being fully upgraded. The Bundesliga has to be careful that we're not emptied out."
